Residents targeted by Trading Standards scam

Residents in Kent are being targeted by a scam pretending to be from Chartered Trading Standards Institute, claiming you are a victim of a scam.

What happens:

  • You receive a letter from Chartered Trading Standards Institute.
  • The letter will notify you that following an investigation, you are a victim of a scam by Verge Capital, who offer loans and bonds.
  • You are told to call 0203 633 2307 to make a refund claim. However you must transfer £5,000 to cover legal costs.
What to do:
  • This is a SCAM
  • Do not provide any personal or banking information.
  • Report scams to Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133.
Please warn vulnerable family members, friends and neighbours.
