Chairman

Born in Surrey, my 40+ years of working were spent in a variety of senior roles in the financial services industry based in London. I hold a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Open University.

My wife (who was born and brought up in Canterbury) and I moved to Sellindge in 2018, shortly after we had both retired. Being a bit of a newbie to the area I was interested in learning more about the history of the village and wanted to get more involved with the community to support its development, as well as making new friends. I was co-opted onto the Parish Council in 2019.

I live in Grove Bridge (where coincidentally the previous owner was also a Parish Councillor – does this mean that whoever owns the house becomes a Parish Councillor?) with my wife and a nearly 12-year-old golden retriever called Freddie. In my spare time I enjoy playing golf, tending to the garden, taking Freddie for a gentle stroll around the village green and reacquainting ourselves with the delights of the Garden of England!

I have been a Parish Councillor for a number years, and can trace my family back two generations. I have lived and worked around Sellindge all my life.

I am married and live in Swan Lane with my wife and granddaughter.

My uncles served on the council some time ago so I have always had an interest in the goings on in and around the village, I am hoping my knowledge of Sellindge will be of some use to the Council.

I have lived in the village for just over 6 years. I grew up in Charing, where my parents had the electrical shop. I had a good education at Highworth but chose to leave school at 16. I have been married to Mark for 32 years and we have 2 lovely daughters in their 20’s, who both have good careers.

My favourite job was working for the Automobile Association as a dispatch manager. I joined the Parish Council about 6 months ago so am still learning how things work.

Born and raised in Hampshire, I have worked internationally within Telecommunications following a career in British Telecom. I am a Chartered Engineer (IET) and recently obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Open University. I work with REMAP a charity providing solutions to persons with varying degrees of disability.

I have set down roots in Sellindge in 2004 whilst commuting to Lille in France for work. I have 3 children who have all been through Sellindge village school where I have also served as a school governor.

I have varied interests, gardening, beekeeping, upholstery, self-sufficiency and sustainability are a few. I have a keen interest in maintaining and improving the area that we live in and have therefore decided to join the council to help steer and shape our community for the better and bring local residents’ thoughts and ideas to the table.

I live in Moorstock Lane with my springer spaniel “Maggie” and love our walks around the beautiful countryside and swim along our local shores.
